Middle School English Teacher
Holy Cross Academy is seeking a passionate and skilled Middle School English Teacher to join our faith-centered learning community. This position can be filled as part-time or full-time, depending on the candidate’s availability and qualifications. The ideal candidate will inspire students to grow in their communication, critical thinking, and writing skills while fostering a love for literature and the English language.
Key responsibilities and qualifications:
- Teach middle school English language arts classes, including literature, writing, grammar, and vocabulary.
- Develop and implement engaging, standards-aligned lesson plans that meet the diverse needs of students.
- Encourage creativity and critical thinking through writing assignments, discussions, and projects.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to help students achieve their best.

Middle School Teacher Aide
Holy Cross Academy is seeking a dedicated and versatile Middle School Teacher Aide to join our faith-filled school community. This role is essential in supporting our teachers, staff, and students, ensuring smooth daily operations and fostering an environment where every student can thrive academically and spiritually.
Key responsibilities and qualifications:
- Provide classroom support to teachers, including assisting with class projects, proctoring exams, making copies, etc.
- Serve as a substitute teacher when needed, ensuring continuity of learning in the teacher’s absence.
- Assist with cafeteria duties, including supervising students during lunch and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
- Support the school office by answering phones, managing basic clerical tasks, and assisting with parent communication.
- Aid in supervising students during arrival, dismissal, and transitions between activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned to contribute to the success of the school.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Holy Cross Academy.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or experience in education is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

School Nurse
We have an opening for a part time school nurse. HCA is seeking a professional to make sure that every student has access to mental and physical health services throughout the day. You will work with teachers and parents or guardians on behalf of their students in order to create care plans when needed, including medication management if necessary.
Apart from injuries and sudden ailments, our school nurses may also support students with chronic illnesses and disabilities. This person will also help promote health-related habits and ensure compliance with national and local health policies for schools.
The ideal school nurse is not only helping in many areas of health, but also knows how to work independently or with others. You must have the ability to communicate effectively and assess situations quickly so you can best serve our students' needs.
School Nurse duties include, but are not limited to:
- Providing healthcare to students with acute or chronic health problems.
- Conducting screenings and writing referrals for health services.
- Developing and monitoring health plans for students.
- Educate students and staff on healthy habits, such as proper nutrition and hygiene.
- Detect health problems in early stages through regular screening.
- Keep track of students' vaccination records.
- Update students' medical history.
- Ensure the school environment is safe for children and school staff.

- Ensure compliance with national and local health laws.
Other Information:
- Minimum education required: RN or BSN.
- Ability to move from campus to campus.
- This is an hourly position, 3 to 5 days a week.
- Work days/hours are from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. August to May when school is in session.

Substitute Teacher
Position Summary
A substitute teacher at Holy Cross Academy must be a practicing Christian who is passionate about fostering, developing, and serving a high-spirited, progressive learning environment which supports the health, welfare, safety and spirit of our students, faculty and parents.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with students in a classroom setting.
- 62 college credit hours.
Duties & Responsibilities
As a Substitute Teacher:
- Displays excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with educators, families, and community leaders effectively.
- Coordinate activities with teachers and administration.
- Able to follow lesson plans prepared by the classroom teacher.
- Is student-focused and nurtures a caring and inclusive school environment.
- Communicates with faculty, staff, and administration and in a joyful, supportive manner.
- Ensure student engagement and participating in learning activities.
- Must be organized, collaborative and flexible.
- Must complete the Safe Environment Program through the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
- Must complete and pass a background check.
