3-5 Year Old Program Goals
Children develop skills at different ages and teachers look at children individually. Teachers prepare lessons with a variety of goals and open-ended opportunities allowing for different stages of learning and development.
As children master one milestone another skill is introduced and reinforced throughout the year. Children will be introduced to the social-emotional curriculum as well as pre-academic skills preparing them for kindergarten. Holy Cross Academy uses the Second Step Social Emotional curriculum and the Learning Without Tears writing program.
Children also attend a variety of special classes to enhance the classroom curriculum and lesson plans: Music, Gym, Body, and Balance, Science, and Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
